In China, the number of people who have received higher education has reached 270 million. This was stated by Vice Minister of Education Wang Guangyan, ECNS reports.
Science and workforce training
According to Wang Guangyan, universities led about three‑quarters of the total projects recognized by China’s three highest national science and technology awards in 2025.
He also said that vocational education provided more than 70% of new skilled workers.

China has issued recommendations on deepening university reform. Educational institutions are encouraged to develop along research, applied, or skills‑oriented paths, based on their strengths and tasks.
