Providing more young people an opportunity to showcase their skills, compete at the national level and work towards representing India on the global stage, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has reopened the registration window for IndiaSkills Competition 2026-27 till October 19, 2026, following many requests from institutions and aspiring participants.

The decision comes amid renewed interest in skill competitions following Team India's exemplary performance at the WorldSkills Competition Shanghai, where the contingent secured 10th place globally, winning six silver medals and 20 medallions for excellence.

This momentum was further strengthened when Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted Team India’s WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 competitors at his residence, 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi, on October 9, 2026.

Following the interaction, the Ministry received numerous requests from institutions and aspiring participants to reopen registrations for IndiaSkills 2026-27. In response, the registration window has reopened until 19 October 2026, giving more young people an opportunity to showcase their skills, compete at the national level, and work towards representing India on the global stage.

IndiaSkills 2026-27 has already received over 4.0 lakh registrations, reflecting young people's interest in demonstrating their capabilities and competing against nationally and internationally benchmarked standards.

Eligible aspirants who could not register earlier can now complete their applications on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH).

Organised under the aegis of MSDE, with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) as the implementation partner, IndiaSkills 2026-27 covers 63 industry‑relevant skill categories across manufacturing, engineering, construction, digital technologies, creative industries and services.
