Abu Dhabi plans to integrate more than 2,000 UAE nationals into its private‑school teaching workforce over the next five years under a new Emiratisation policy that combines recruitment commitments from major education operators with training, qualification and employment support.
The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) announced the policy in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (NAFIS) and five private education operators: SABIS, Taaleem, GEMS Education, International Community Schools and Liwa Education, a WAM report said.
The initiative introduces Emiratisation targets specifically for teaching positions in Abu Dhabi’s private schools, complementing existing federal requirements. It also establishes a framework to help schools recruit, train and employ Emirati educators, with an initial focus on Arabic, Islamic Studies and Social Studies.
